[-daʊ 'dʒəʊnz 'ævərɪdʒ], Nikkei Stock Average [-stɔk-], ungewichteter japanischer Aktienindex, der seit 1949 zunächst von der Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE), dann vom japanischen Zeitungsverlag Nihon Keizai Shimbun börsentäglich aus den Kursen von 225 an der TSE notierten Aktien ermittelt und deshalb auch als Nikkei 225 bezeichnet wird (Basis 16. 5. 1949 = 100). Seit 1993 wird zudem der 300 Aktien umfassende Nikkei 300 errechnet. Daneben existiert die seit 1969 von der TSE ermittelte Indexfamilie TOPIX (aus Tokyo Stock Price Index), die aufgrund der Wertgewichtung aussagefähiger, aber international weniger bekannt ist.
